While Tiger King is sure to keep you entertained during quarantine, we wanted to provide you with some other ways to get you through the crisis. Check out our top picks (after Tiger King, of course) below!
Cultivate Gratitude
For many, this is a tough time, but it can be restorative to reflect on all the things in our lives that we still have and are grateful for. Making a list in the morning of three or more things that you are thankful for can shift your thinking throughout the day to that of positivity and appreciation.
Take Time to Talk about Things Other than the Crisis
It can be so easy in a time like this to focus on what we are all going through and dealing with especially when it has affected everyone’s way of life to some extent. While it is certainly good to address what is happening in the world, it is also important that it doesn’t consume or overwhelm us. Next time you talk to friends and family, try to talk about other things too.
Pour Time into your Hobbies
Whether you pick up an old hobby or discover a new one, spend some time doing something you love or something that is meaningful to you. This can be a great way to channel your energy and even make something of it.
Make a “When this is all Over List”
As the old saying goes, “this too shall pass.” And when it does, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to be prepared. In other words, look to the future. Make a list of all the things you want to do when this is over; call it your Post-COVID-19 Bucket List.
Get Outdoors
The outdoors, as we all know, is still the one place we can actually go. So if COVID-19 has done nothing else for us, at least it’s getting us outside and reacquainted with nature. Getting outside has so many benefits too, ones that, in the current context, could be significantly helpful. Being outdoors helps us be active, lessens anxiety, and improves sleep, immunity, focus, and creativity.
Set a Routine
With our homes becoming our offices and our social calendars clear, there is very little structure imposed on our lives right now. However, in terms of remaining productive and motivated, it’s still important to carve out a schedule for ourselves and stick to it. Continuing to designate time for our work, personal, and family lives, is, perhaps, even more important now to staying on track and maintaining balance.
