Stay-at-Home Date Night Ideas

Since going out is off the table, we’ve compiled some stay-at-home date night ideas for you and your partner to get you through the long days of quarantine.

Get Crafty Together

Why not draw her like one of your French girls? Unless you are a terrible artist, then maybe don’t draw her. Luckily though, there are options for those of you who aren’t as artistically inclined to still get creative with your significant other. Hillfolk has some fun indigo dye kits meant for two which you can order online here and get shipped to your door.

Have a Tasting Party

Order some ciders from Black Apple, a cider mill downtown Springdale, or some spirits from Foxtrail Distillery, based in Rogers,  for your very own tasting party or happy hour at home. Black Apple and Foxtrail Distillery are currently doing delivery and curbside pickup. Sweet Freedom Cheese also has a selection of wines to choose from, and residents gets 10% off their order of $20 or more.

Read Aloud

This month we have decided to host a book club through our resident Slack account. We are reading Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. If you are joining us and reading along, make some coffee or tea and cuddle up together and take turns reading aloud. You could also start your own book club for two! You can order pretty much any book online at our local bookstore, Two Friends Books.

Learn about each Other

This is such a strange time for a number of reasons. With our routines disrupted and nowhere to go, life seems slower. Because of this though, it has also afforded us certain opportunities like really checking in with one another, especially those we love. Practice curiosity. Ask each other the things you don’t normally. Consider what you might ask your partner if you were just getting to know them. Your curiosity might just light a spark! The School of Life poses some great questions to ask your partner, if you don’t know where to start. You can see all of their games and kits related to relationships here.

Try a New Recipe

It might just be the perfect time to make something extravagant for dinner or make something you’ve always wanted to try. Even if you don’t want to make something particularly complicated or have to make a trip to the grocery store to gather up ingredients, Oven & Tap is offering all sorts of kits so that you can recreate some of their favorites at home. Blu, Bentonville’s fresh fish market and restaurant, is currently offering sushi kits as well. For details on how to order a sushi kit, head on over to their Instagram account.

Pack a Picnic

Grab some blankets, make a spread, and head on out to your patio. If you don’t have a patio, the living room floor will do. Pour some wine or enjoy some beer. The Hub has an awesome new IPA in collaboration with Lost Forty called DRT SFR, which would pair well with some cheddar and hearty mustard. Residents get 10% off at The Hub as well.

Make it a Competition

Board games were made for quarantine situations. But if you’ve already exhausted all your board game options, check out Jackbox Games for some virtual fun. Their games are compatible with a variety of devices including your phone, and you can invite others to play as well, a perfect option for social distancing double dates.
